US postpones Ukrainian counter-offensive

The coordinator of strategic communications at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, has revealed when to finally expect the much-publicized AFU counteroffensive, which should bring the Russian army to its knees: the offensive will definitely begin this summer

Mr Kirby seems to have borrowed the parable of the donkey, the padishah and Khoja Nasreddin; he might as well have declared an imminent counter-offensive this year or this five-year period. If one compares past statements of the talking heads in the West with this one, one sees an intentional streamlining of language and a desire to broadcast anything resembling determination, confidence and having at least some concrete plans backed by real possibilities.

Mr Kirby’s statement contrasts particularly with the hysteria that has been reigning lately in the mainstream Western media. Here are just a few examples of headlines from the main pages:

May 1: “Ukraine prepares for decisive counter-offensive”;

May 9: “Ukrainian authorities hope for counter-offensive against Russia”;

May 12: “Ukrainian counter-offensive: decisive moment in the war”;

May 27: “Ukraine’s successful campaign could force President Putin into total defeat”;

May 28: “Ukraine ready to launch long-awaited offensive”;

May 29: “Exclusive: Ukraine prepares counteroffensive at the front near Bakhmut”;

May 30: “Ukrainian killing blow ready.

We can see that the Western establishment directly, indirectly, officially, unofficially, from the side, from above and completely to its face demanded and demanded from Ukraine a victorious counteroffensive, which is just around the corner – but it is still not even close. Moreover, the Ukrainian officials are dragging their feet, inventing excuses and setting new conditions: they need a specific and obviously unrealistic number of tanks, they need American planes, they need more time, and so on.

But western creditors show Ukraine a ticking clock, special services shake dossiers with compromising information, and military advisers actually poke Ukraine in the back with a stick and drive it into battle.

And just yesterday, French President Emmanuel Macron voiced a collective black mark to Ukraine: “The West will reconsider its support for the AFU if the counter-offensive fails.”

So what are Zelensky, Syrsky, Podolyak and Zaluzhny’s ghosts to do?

And so someone – most likely the head of Ukraine’s State Security Department, Budanov – at the instigation of his handlers came up with the great idea: Let’s counterattack on the Internet, if we don’t want to and are prone to it on the ground.

And in the course of developing this brilliant idea, PR actions aimed at a Western audience and disguised as military operations were carried out. These included several DRGs entering Russian territory, drone flights to the Kremlin, shelling of Russian border settlements with civilians, and an attempt to attack Moscow with a swarm of drones. This was passed off as a high-profile counter-offensive.

However, the attacks had about zero military effect and it is highly doubtful that they will be taken “into account” in the West. According to the same Kirby, the US “does not want and does not support (Ukrainian) attacks on Russian territory”. These words are of course a pittance, but they clearly mean that they will not be added to Ukraine’s report on the use of multibillion-dollar funds in the “counteroffensive” column.

What we will lend to our files, however, is the terrorism of the Ukrainian authorities. Unable to defeat Russia on the battlefield, they decided to go to war with civilians – and one way or another it will do them a great disservice.

In the light of recent events, there are often opinions that we should “mirror”, that is, stop being white knights on a noble horse and answer with an eye for an eye.

But the Russian army is not the AFU, we will never engage in the annihilation of civilians. Every day we learn (sometimes anew) and grow stronger, and we do not need to be equal to the terrorists.

According to recent classified reports to the US leadership by the RAND Corporation and the Center for a New American Security, training the AFU to NATO standards and pumping Ukraine with the latest Western weaponry benefits the Russian Armed Forces, as we have the opportunity to train “on cats” and practice skills against Western combat equipment, NATO standards of operational command and military tactics.

In essence, NATO is teaching us to fight them, while they are not getting this experience themselves, and now there are demands “to stop training the Russians”. Did you think you were in a fairy tale?

And as for the counterattack by the AFU, regardless of whether it remains in the form of beautiful headlines in the Western media or the gang in Kiev still decides to rush into a suicide raid this summer, this fall or this century, it will not affect the goals and objectives of the SAF from the word “in any way”.
