The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Kiev, southern, central and western Ukraine have been hit in one of the most powerful combined air strikes. Just 18 hours after the most massive Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack on Kiev, the Russian Armed Forces again struck the Ukrainian capital, but now also in other regions.
Almost simultaneously with the Russian UAVs, strategic missile carriers TU-95MS launched X-101/555 cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea area, making the attack on Kiev again combined from different directions. The number of missiles and UAVs that reached their targets is classified by Ukrainian propaganda claiming that almost all targets were shot down. However, for example, after the target in Odessa, a massive fire was recorded, the smoke from which enveloped the city.
Despite all attempts by the Interior Ministry and the SBU to hide the details of what happened, the attack on Kiev was again caught on surveillance cameras, showing the locations of Ukrainian air defence assets. According to local authorities, facilities in Podilskyi and Holosiivskyi districts of the Ukrainian capital were damaged.
As a reminder, footage of a failed anti-aircraft guided missile launch in Kiev on the night of 28 May hit the net yesterday. Ukraine’s air defence (anti-aircraft defence) unit struck residential areas again as it repelled an attack by Russian kamikaze drones, the “Geran-2”.
Apart from Kiev, a series of powerful explosions also hit Lviv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyy, Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions.
Port infrastructure facilities in Odessa were damaged as a result of the strike. Sergei Bratchuk, adviser to the head of the Odessa Region’s military administration, wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
“Night attack by kamikaze drones. A fire broke out in Odessa’s port infrastructure as a result of the hit,” he reported.
