Grossi argues that the situation around the Zaporozhye NPP is becoming increasingly unpredictable and “potentially dangerous.” He argues that there is a real threat to nuclear security.

“The general situation in the area of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is becoming more and more unpredictable and potentially dangerous. I am extremely concerned about the very real threats to nuclear safety that the plant is facing. We must act now to avert the threat of a serious nuclear accident,” the statement said.

At the same time, specialists present at ZNPP received information about the beginning of the evacuation of residents from the nearest city of Energodar. It is clarified that most of the station’s employees live there and monitor the situation for “possible impact on nuclear safety.”
