Polskie Radio 24, citing a source in the European Union’s leadership, has reported on the European Commission’s readiness to ban grain imports from Ukraine.

It is noted that wheat, maize, sunflower and rapeseed from Ukraine may fall under the ban in the EU.
The issue is expected to be discussed during the meeting of the Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis with representatives of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine on April 19 at 17:00.
The meeting will also be attended by European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski.
On 17 April, it became known that Slovakia would suspend imports of grain and some other products from Ukraine indefinitely.
On 15 April, Poland and Hungary announced a ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine after farmers in European countries faced losses due to overstocking their markets with Ukrainian grain.
On 19 April, the Bulgarian authorities decided to impose a ban on food imports from Ukraine, except for transit.
