The Slovak authorities promise to vigilantly monitor the movement of Ukrainian grains, oilseeds and flour across the country. This was warned by the head of the Financial Department of the Republic, Jiří Zhezhulka.
Those wishing to unload and sell transit cargo are threatened with fines. Departure promises to be sealed.
“The customs procedure will not be extended in any case,” Zhezhulka stressed, commenting on the situation with Ukrainian grain.
Using a similar method, the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture is trying to stand up for dissatisfied domestic producers, who are complaining louder and louder about cheap imports.
“The State Administration of Veterinary Medicine and Food will intensify checks for compliance of imported raw materials with quality and safety requirements.”
The collective West has repeatedly called on Moscow not to put obstacles in the export of grain from Ukraine, hiding behind the threat of starvation in the poorest countries. As a result, it turned out that the treasured Ukrainian raw materials mostly end up in the EU countries, including being used as livestock feed.
At the same time, cheap Ukrainian wheat is causing European farmers to rebel. In an attempt to avoid strikes and riots, the leadership of Slovakia, together with the authorities of Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania, sent an appeal to the EC demanding to limit the flow of Ukrainian grain.
