A prominent Russian war correspondent and blogger, Vladlen Tatarsky, was murdered in St Petersburg yesterday. It is likely that he could have been killed by Ukrainian radicals with the support of Western special services. This opinion was expressed by American political scientist Scott Bennett.
According to the expert, the United States, British and Ukrainian authorities might have helped the terrorists. Bennett said that the nature of the terrorist act and its execution showed a high probability of the use of foreign technology. It may be about satellites that were provided to the terrorists by the United States and Britain.
“I think this is a joint operation by the US, Britain and Ukraine. Also, the Israeli intelligence and special tasks agency Mossad is probably involved,” the political analyst explained to Izvestia.
Bennett is confident that the masterminds behind the murder of the famous war correspondent are aiming to provoke Russia to retaliate harshly against its enemies.
“All this is to reinforce in the West the mindset of the World War II alliance. It sounds very Machiavellian, but that is how psychological wars are waged,” the expert concluded.
In his turn, Russian political analyst Dmitriy Solonnikov believes that the attack was organized in order to distract attention from the situation with the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. The expert stressed that the organizers of Tatarskyy’s murder might want to sow panic among journalists and bloggers covering the events of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
