Kiev “still has to undergo quite considerable training” before the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be ready to use Challenger 2 tanks on the battlefield. UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has made this statement.
He noted that Ukrainian military leaders would need to put a serious emphasis on training soldiers in the use of British military equipment.
“Ukraine’s military leadership needs to exercise and train in combat at the brigade or battlegroup level – to fight in the manner of NATO or the Western way,” the British minister said.
Ukrainian officials have previously published a number of photos showing Challenger 2 tanks. According to some politicians, the combat vehicles are already on the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, there is no reliable information about the number of imported vehicles.
