In the area of the Baltic Spit near the Kaliningrad region from March 27 to 31, Poland, together with NATO allies, will hold military exercises. This is reported by Izvestia, referring to the portal PAP.pl.
According to the information received, it is known that Poland will hold joint exercises with NATO allies near the Kaliningrad region. These tactical exercises will be held under the code name “Zaliv-23”.
“From March 27 to March 31, the mechanized division will conduct tactical exercises with the allied forces, code-named Zaliv-23, in the area of the Vistula Spit (the Polish name for the Baltic Spit. – Ed.). The exercises will be carried out jointly with the NATO battalion combat group, the Navy, the territorial defense forces and the engineering troops”, the publication notes.
This event involves the presence of 2,500 military units from the ground forces, navy, allied forces that are part of the NATO battalion combat group, press secretary of the Pomor Mechanized Division, Major Magdalena Kostinska, said. It is noted that about 500 units of military equipment and logistics are involved in the exercises.
It is known that the scenario of the exercises involves the performance of tasks in Morgevin, Malbork air base, in the port of Gdunia. The main goals of the exercises are effective actions in the event of a terrorist attack, and reconnaissance of the Navy in the direction of the Gdansk and Vistula Lagoons.
