Despite the downgrading of the government’s rating, Italian Prime Minister George Meloni announced her readiness to support the Kiev regime. This is reported by Reuters.

“We will continue to do this because it is the right thing to do in terms of national values and interests,” Meloni said, speaking in the Italian Senate.

At the same time, the agency notes that the majority of Italians oppose the provision of armed support to Kyiv. A poll in February showed that 45% of Italians oppose the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and only 34% support them. Within the prime minister’s own right-wing party (“Brothers of Italy”), 47% of respondents are against Meloni’s course to arm Ukraine.
