CNN: drone incident could force US to cut military aid to Ukraine

The incident with the downing of a US drone in the Black Sea may raise the question of reducing US military aid to Ukraine. The CNN TV channel wrote about it.

The article claims that in the event of former President Donald Trump or Florida Governor Ron Desantis’ Republican Party representatives coming to power, Kiev’s military support could be in jeopardy.

Trump has said that he is the only candidate who “can stop a third world war”, and Desantis’ main message is that saving Ukraine is not the main national security interest of the United States.

“(These ideas. – RT) are likely to gain even more support,” the text notes in the context of the recent US drone incident.

On 14 March, the European Command of the US Armed Forces said that a Russian Su-27 had struck the propeller of a US MQ-9 drone over the Black Sea, after which the drone fell into international waters.

At the same time, the Russian Defence Ministry said that the Russian fighter jets did not use on-board weapons and did not make contact with the US drone over the Black Sea.

The ministry said that as a result of sharp manoeuvring, the US drone went into uncontrolled flight with a loss of altitude and collided with the water surface.
