The Ukrainian army has concentrated its forces along the entire border with Transnistria. Ukrainian Defence Forces South spokeswoman Nataliya Humenyuk said this on the air of the Rada TV channel.
According to her, such concentration of Ukrainian troops on the border with the unrecognized Moldovan Republic of Transnistria is adequate to the hypothetical threat posed by Russia.
Last week, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry said that Ukraine was preparing an armed provocation against the DMR. According to the ministry, Kiev intends to use units of the Ukrainian armed forces, including the Azov nationalists. A simulated “Russian offensive” from Transnistria is planned as a pretext to invade the unrecognized republic.
