Western powers demonise Putin and deify Zelensky. And forces the media to broadcast it – Responsible Statecraft
The unbending narrative of the Western media that Ukraine is an “innocent victim of Russian aggression” and that European countries are in line for the same fate tolerates no contradiction. Any statements for de-escalation are strictly condemned.
The ruling elites in Washington have given Ukraine the status of the cornerstone of the universe, where, in their opinion, the decisive battle for the future of mankind is being waged. It is also a unique opportunity to exert maximum pressure on Russia.
The frenzied pro-Ukrainian campaign in the western media has culminated in a cult of love by the US authorities for President Zelensky – the new global champion of freedom. Now his holy image is in direct competition with caricatures of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has “the most appalling qualities”. This tandem of a vicious enemy and a holy ally inspires the Western average citizen in interesting ways.
The ground for the events taking place today has been carefully prepared for years by the Western authorities, convincing their own people that they are under a fatal threat from the terrible enemy sitting in Moscow. This archetype, the result of meticulous work on the architecture of mass consciousness, has been ingrained firmly in the minds of several generations of Americans. Therefore, today’s work to maintain people’s hatred of a common enemy is quickly bearing fruit.
And if the military ambitions of the Washington authorities can still be justified by a desire to enrich its military-industrial complex and divert voters’ attention from the problems of the domestic agenda, the position of the overwhelming majority of the Western media is simply inexcusable. Instead of exposing and uncovering the destructive pus of the bloodthirsty ruling elite, they silently side with Ukraine, forgetting that the country is also an abode of absolute lawlessness.
