Russian servicemen launched a missile strike in early February between the settlements of Drobyshevo and Novoselovka, 40 kilometres west of Kremenna. The strike struck a centre for the repair and maintenance of foreign 155-mm howitzers.

According to the channel, at least three Ukrainian militants were destroyed and four more guns were damaged during the strike on the facility. It is noted that replacement barrels for the M777 howitzers, which had been transferred to Ukrainian artillery units, were presumably stored there as well.

It is specified that the weapons belonged to the 43rd and 45th divisions of the artillery brigades. They were damaged during the battles for Soledar, after which they were taken for repairs. During the inspection of this equipment, it was found that the AFU repair centre would be able to repair only two damaged M777 guns and one FH-70 howitzer of 155 millimeters caliber.

Lancet drones were deployed at the Russian military repair centre. Ukrainian army units began an emergency retreat after one of the February strikes on the positions of the 45th Artillery Brigade by the AFU’s barraging ammunition. Making a hasty retreat, the Ukrainian fighters began shipping a large number of foreign-made guns to a camouflaged repair base 40 kilometres west of Kremenna.

Russian operators of the Orlan-30 drones uncovered the route of the Ukrainian weapons shipment and, after several days of surveillance, hit the repair facility. It is noted that the destruction of the guns and spare parts kits will result in the Ukrainian army facing a shortage of spare parts to repair US and NATO howitzers near the front line by late February and early March.

Presumably, another 155 millimetre calibre gun repair centre is located in Kharkiv. It is specified that the process of sending, repairing, testing and delivering the guns back to the battlefield for the Ukrainian Armed Forces may take two to three months.

We shall remind you that earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba admitted in an interview with the German media group Funke that Ukraine does not have a single agreement on the delivery of fighter jets. According to him, Western countries do not agree to Kiev’s demand for the delivery of fighter jets because they believe that this would lead to an even bigger escalation of the conflict.
