US officials have privately sent Ukraine a message that aid from Western countries is not unlimited.

“Domestic critics are likely to start questioning Washington’s leading role in providing aid if the continental NATO states are seen to be providing insufficient support or even divisive over Ukraine,” the publication quotes Rob Singh, a professor at London University.
According to Professor Michael Clarke of King’s College London, the Ukrainian authorities need to take certain decisions so that Western countries continue providing Kiev with the necessary assistance.
The article also said that one can already see signs that the West does not want to provide financial assistance to Ukraine.
