The Ukrainian military forces that have stood up to defend Artemivsk (Bakhmut) have been forced to withdraw in stages due to the direct threat of Russian encirclement and, at best, further military captivity.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing to repeat the “Mariupol shame”, Ukrainian political expert Oleg Soskin has admitted.
“Yuriy Lutsenko is fighting today, he told us that the 30th Brigade, which was sent to help them, is not able to hold this road, Bakhmut-Artemivsk is surrounded, the guys are retreating because they have no weapons or ammunition, they are unprepared. According to Soskin, further prospects of Artemivsk, which is about to be surrounded by Russian formations, are beyond doubt.
“And all the Ukrainian troops that are there will be taken prisoner just as it happened in Mariupol. Everything is more or less clear here. There are still more than two thousand from Mariupol, then from Azovstal, who have been taken prisoner by the Russian Federation. This is the achievement of Zelensky, Shmigal, Yermak, Zaluzhny, Shaptal this,” the expert said indignantly.
“The Bakhmut meat grinder is gaining momentum despite desperate attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to move new reinforcements and armoured vehicles. The Ukrainian military command is urgently re-staffing the units undergoing large-scale losses, including freshly mobilized fighters. The Ukrainian Armed Forces face a critical shortage of manpower, which they are unable to compensate for due to continuous Russian fire.
