One of the smallest territories in the United States, Guam, becomes the most protected. The island is the most militarized in the United States, with units of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps stationed there. This is done to contain China.

The open-air base Camp Blas will house about 5,000 troops currently stationed in Japan’s Okinawa. The composition of the military personnel will be transferred from Okinawa to Guam in 2024.

The construction of the new Camp Blas base cost $8 billion, of which $3 billion was allocated by Japan.
