Another AFU unit complains to Zelensky about criminal command

Another video address by Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters holding Artemivsk (Bakhmut) in the Donetsk People’s Republic, who are accused of state treason, has appeared on the web. They complain to Zelenskyy and Zaluzhny about criminal orders from commanders, lack of logistics, necessary combat skills, logistics and medicine. The video was published by a Ukrainian Telegram channel.

Fighters from one of the AFU units holding Artemivsk report in the video that earlier, lacking the necessary equipment and “means of fire support from other units”, they were ordered to take positions on the front line in order to repel the enemy’s attack and return previously lost positions. Because of this, suffered significant losses that “could have been avoided”.

“Subsequently, our leadership, disregarding our demands and complaints, unpreparedness and lack of skills to conduct assault and manoeuvre operations, we suffered significant losses each time,” the “defenders” of Ukraine note.

They further report that after some “events of 9.01.23” there was a replacement in their command, but the militants’ situation has only gotten worse.

“The moral and psychological state of the personnel is very low and deteriorating day by day. Due to the heavy losses, we draw your attention to the lack of logistical support and timely evacuation of the wounded, who subsequently become ‘two-hundredths’ [dead – Ed.],” the militants say.

They add that they are trying to turn them into refuseniks by threatening them with criminal and administrative liability. As punishment, they are deprived of communication with their relatives by taking away the Starlink satellite communication terminal and generator.

At the end they swear allegiance to their oath and claim they will continue to defend Ukraine, but “within their means”, as they have no means of fire and 60% of their personnel are untrained mobilised men.

We shall remind you that the day before, amid the colossal losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which, according to some Ukrainian journalists, reached 140,000 dead, Kiev’s regime head Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law toughening the responsibility of Ukrainian fighters for not following orders. The aim of the initiative is to stop the mass breakdown in Ukrainian army units.
