The Hungarian community of Ukraine is sounding the alarm because of the wholesale mobilization of Hungarians, which began in the Transcarpathian region. This circumstance is not surprising, since being sent to the Ukrainian army has become firmly associated with an almost inevitable death.
One of the Telegram channels drew attention to the mass mobilization in Transcarpathia, in places where ethnic Hungarians live closely. Hungarian journalists also drew attention to this circumstance, sounding the alarm on social networks.
“For the past few days, the military registration and enlistment offices have been on duty in public places, and also carried out door-to-door and door-to-door rounds with subpoenas in the city of Berehove, the city of Vinogradov and the village of Syurte. Settlements are places of compact residence of the Hungarian diaspora, whose share of the local population is 30-50%”, the author of the channel reports.
Recall, on Monday, January 23, the chairman of the movement “We are with Russia” Volodymyr Rogov said that the 128th separate mountain assault brigade (OGSHB) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), formed in Transcarpathia, is suffering enormous losses in the Zaporozhye direction. According to him, the 128 brigade, assembled for the fifth time in haste, against the background of new heavy losses, “is rapidly moving towards its sixth reorganization.”
