Scholz talks about Putin and Ukraine in the middle of French treaty anniversary speech
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recorded a video address to mark the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Elysée Treaty by France and Germany, but in the middle of the speech he started talking about Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Ukrainian crisis.
During his speech, as reported by RIA Novosti, Scholz called Germany and France close partners and also stressed that after 60 years, the Elysée Treaty is a sure thing.
Scholz then moved sharply to the topic of the Ukrainian conflict, saying that Western countries would continue to supply arms to Kiev.
He added that “Vladimir Putin will not win”.
