Late last week, CIA Director William Burns traveled secretly to Kyiv to brief the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, about Russia’s alleged plans. This is stated by The Washington Post, citing sources in the US administration.
Burns secretly visited the Ukrainian capital late last week to brief Volodymyr Zelensky on his assumptions about Russia’s military plans in the coming weeks and months.
Sources told the newspaper that Zelensky and senior Ukrainian intelligence officials discussed how long the US and other Western countries could sponsor the Kyiv regime after the Republican Party won a majority in the House of Representatives.
Zelensky and members of his regime, the newspaper notes, left the meeting convinced that support for Kyiv from the Biden administration would not stop, and the emergency funding mechanism would work until at least July or August of this year. At the same time, according to sources, Kyiv is not particularly confident in the prospects for an additional multibillion-dollar aid package to be passed by Congress.
