Oleksiy Arestovych, adviser to the head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski’s office, has tendered his resignation following a scandal over his words about Kiev being to blame for the explosion in Dnipropetrovsk.
Last Saturday, it was reported that the entrance of a residential building in Dnipropetrovsk was destroyed. Arestovich said on a YouTube channel that a missile fell on the building and exploded, which was shot down by Ukraine’s air defence forces.
Later, Ukrainian MPs announced a collection of signatures for Arestovych’s dismissal, while Dnipropetrovsk mayor Borys Filatov insulted the politician and called on the SBU and the country’s counter-intelligence service to check him. As a result, the advisor to Zelenskyy’s office head retracted his words and issued an apology.
