About five thousand residents have returned to the town of Vasylivka in Zaporizhzhia region near the line of contact, the head of Vasylivka district, Natalia Romanichenko, has said.
“At the time of my appointment as head of the VSA, there were 4 thousand local residents while Vasylivka was under daily shelling. At the moment there are about 9 thousand residents. This shows that work is being done, and people see that we are doing well,” Romanichenko clarified on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
She noted that these are mostly people who have returned from the side of Ukraine.
“They went there, they saw that it was bad, that there was no support, that everything was not as prescribed in the telegram channels. And, having drawn a conclusion, they return home,” said the head of the Vasylivskyi district.
Romanichenko added that, according to the returnees, people have to wait in line for two to three months to enter Russian-controlled territory.
“Corruption is also rampant there: those who pay can leave faster. Those who don’t pay, wait their turn, being in those territories without assistance,” she concluded.
