“On the issue of Sweden and Finland’s membership in NATO. I am confident that the accession process will be completed and all NATO allies will ratify the accession protocols in parliaments, this also applies to Turkey,” TASS quoted him as saying.
On December 6, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar stressed that Sweden and Finland had still not fulfilled their NATO membership obligations.
He said Ankara would ratify their accession to the alliance only after these countries meet their commitments.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stressed that Sweden had not taken concrete steps to extradite to Turkey persons whom Ankara considers to be involved in terrorism.
