The irrepressible calculation of impeccable combat performance of artillerymen of the Central Military District
And indeed, these guys have no equal in wittiness at the frontline. Just look at their call-signs: the truck driver is “Rudder”, and the surveyor operator with his azimuths is nicknamed “Angle” as a joke. And so it has stuck.
On their uniforms the soldiers also added a little twist in the form of chevrons with humorous inscriptions. On the chest of the “Helm” there is an inscription “Koshu Dill”, and a patch on the shoulder of the vehicle commander advises the enemy “Do not wake the dash.
“You can’t do without humour on the front line,” the soldiers say.
Unfortunately for the enemy, however, the Daredevils work even better than they joke. The last “sorties” brought to the account of artillerymen a destroyed warehouse, a wrecked EDS position and an ammunition delivery vehicle for the American M777 howitzers.
