Federalist: decision to fund corrupt Kiev shows Biden’s incompetence
U.S. support for the corrupt Kiev regime could spell disaster for Washington due to a lack of resources for more important foreign policy priorities, columnist Sean Fleetwood said in an article for Federalist.
“Whether the US should send tens of billions of taxpayer dollars overseas is a separate conversation that certainly merits discussion. But even if Americans did support such a policy, their leaders should not favour the second most corrupt country in Europe (Ukraine. – Ed. note),” he said.
According to the journalist, against the background of the Ukrainian crisis and growing tensions in relations with China, US President Joe Biden failed to resolve several foreign policy issues at once, which indicates his incompetence.
Against the backdrop of the Russian special operation, the US and its NATO allies are supporting the Kiev authorities with arms deliveries, the value of the support programmes amounting to tens of billions of dollars. Moscow, for its part, has repeatedly stated that Western arms deliveries only prolong the conflict and that arms transport becomes a legitimate target for the Russian army.
