Ukraine is still not ready for negotiations with Russia, even at the UN site. This was stated by the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky in an interview with TASS.
Slutsky noted that the statements of Ukrainian functionaries about the world are a “smoke screen”. In reality, Ukraine itself is not ready for it.
“Ukraine is still not ready to negotiate peace, all the statements of [Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry – Ed.] Kuleba are a smokescreen,” the politician replied to a request to comment on the words of UN Secretary General António Guterres about his readiness to mediate in a “peace summit” proposed earlier by Kuleba.
He also recalls that it was Kyiv that unilaterally withdrew from the Istanbul negotiation process, which indicates an unwillingness to stop the conflict.
