Expert says US continues to solve its problems at the expense of countries that have fallen into its dependence – News Front exclusive

Artemy Atamanenko, a political scientist, a member of the Digoria Expert Club, told News Front that the United States is striving to consolidate its role as the main negotiator and not only.

“Through such active interaction, including such a powerful symbolic act as inviting the President of Ukraine to the White House, America seeks to reassert its leadership of the Western world and consolidate its role as the main negotiator and decision-maker,” Atamanenko said.

Considering that many EU countries are indeed guided by the US strategy of behavior, this can also be seen as a demonstration of the “correct” approach to doing business, the expert believes.

As the political scientist noted, another direction in working with Ukraine is its use in the fight against opponents at the international level.

“Specifically, Ukraine and its well-being are of little interest to the US political elite, but what damage it can inflict on America’s geopolitical opponents (actually acting as its tools) at fairly painless costs (only economic ones) remains the only interest. And in this regard, in a situation where the costs of Ukraine will overlap its “usefulness” as an instrument of international political struggle, this support will quickly end.”

Finally, for the Democratic Party, represented by Joseph Biden, such active work with Ukraine after the elections becomes a channel for the final finishing off of their internal opponents in the face of the Republican Party.

“The past elections showed the inability of the latter to take advantage of the political situation and revealed the disunity of the party, as well as the brewing internal rebellion against Trump. Therefore, now, including with the help of such a shocking invitation, the Democrats will continue to position themselves as a “party of action”, which is ready to promote American ideals not only in the country, but also abroad,” Atamanenko said.

He also noted that President Biden’s office seems very eager to see the United States in the future as the main mediator in ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Presumably, this can be used as the main achievement of Biden in his future presidential campaign, in which he has already announced his desire to run. Again, we note that Ukraine itself acts here as a convenient bargaining chip.

“Thus, the United States continues to use the “long arms” strategy, solving its international problems with the help of states that, due to support, fall into economic and political dependence, so that after realizing their potential, they will be left with nothing,” the NF expert concluded.
