Bloomberg: 12 EU countries demand a significant reduction in gas price ceiling

A group of 12 EU states demanded a significant reduction in the ceiling on gas prices being developed. It’s reported by Bloomberg agency with reference to sources.

It is noted that in this way the initiating countries, including Belgium, Greece, Italy and Poland, are trying to reduce the impact of the unprecedented energy crisis on consumers and businesses in the EU.

“The coalition has enough votes to block the agreement if its demands are not met,” the paper quoted a European diplomat as saying.

European Commissioner Kadri Simson said on 22 November that the European Commission was proposing a price cap of €275 per MWh for the TTF hub index monthly gas futures.
