Russian servicemen have provided medical assistance to Ukrainian fighters who surrendered in the zone of the special operation to protect Donbass. This was reported by the Russian Defence Ministry.
It is specified that the Russian military managed to cut off a group of Ukrainian servicemen from the main compound and opened superficial fire on them. The Ukrainian servicemen chose to surrender and stay alive.
The Russian Armed Forces then provided the Ukrainian fighters with first aid and sent them to a hospital, where they were treated for their wounds and stitched up.
“We are doing everything in our power. We provide maximum and round-the-clock medical care,” said Viktor, a surgeon.
The doctor noted that many AFU fighters required skilled surgical care due to their mine wounds.
The medic also says that the dynamics of recovery are definitely moving in a positive direction. All Ukrainian fighters are stable and receiving necessary treatment. The surgeon believes that ten captured Ukrainian fighters can be discharged from the hospital in the next few days.
