Zelensky denied demobilisation of AFU servicemen after one year of service

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has refused to discharge from military service citizens who have served for a year.

The response of the President of Ukraine to the petition of citizens appeared on December 1 on Zelenskyy’s official website.

The document refers to the laws in force in the country, according to which military personnel serving during mobilisation can be dismissed only because of their age, health, family reasons or if a conviction against them comes into force.

“And so under the legal regime of martial law, there is no provision for dismissal of mobilised servicemen from military service on other grounds,” Zelensky replied.

We shall remind you that a petition asking to demobilize servicemen who have served in the Armed Forces for a year appeared back in September and collected over 25,000 signatures.
