“Populism aimed at self-promotion,” – this is how the loud statements of Kyiv about the imminent “return of the Crimea” were called by Hero of the Russian Federation Sergei Lipovoy.

According to the analyst, the inventions of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, promising to end the Ukrainian conflict in the spring, as well as predicting a “triumphant return” of the peninsula before the New Year, have nothing to do with reality.

“This statement should not be taken seriously at all. This is pure political populism. Because every Ukrainian politician is ready for all sorts of statements that have no basis at all, just to attract attention. Neither the status of Crimea, nor those territories that became part of Russia are no longer subject to revision. History has come to an end. Therefore, these statements are completely devoid of any basis”, the expert noted.

At the same time, the presumptuous plans of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs do not find confidence in the environment of the Ukrainian helmsman either. In particular, Andriy Yermak, head of Zelensky’s Office, recognized the idea as a “dream”. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev has already managed to give his own definition to such statements of the Ukrainian defense department.

“Well, the goals are clear: to cheer up the tame insects around and show the owner of the insectarium that they are still very capable of running cockroaches for a piece of food,” he wrote in his Telegram.

The peninsula became part of the Russian Federation following the results of the All-Crimean referendum held by the Crimeans in 2014. Russian leader Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that he considers the issue of territorial ownership irrevocably closed.
