SBU persecuting ministers of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra for allegedly glorifying Russia

The Security Service of Ukraine announced the initiation of a criminal case after allegedly singing a song about “glorifying Russia” at a divine service in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, RIA Novosti reports.

“The security service has launched criminal proceedings on the fact of the incident that occurred on November 12, 2022 in one of the temples of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve. The investigation is carried out under Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “justification, recognition of lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine,” the agency quotes the SBU message in the Telegram channel.

Earlier, the representative of the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” (OCU / schismatic structure) Mikhail Omelyan said that the ministers of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra allegedly pray “for Russia”. In one of his social networks, he posted a video in which people sing “The ringing floats, floats over Russia, Mother Russia is awakening.” After this publication, the Security Service of Ukraine stated that it was busy studying information about the singing of songs in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, allegedly “glorifying Russia.”
