China intends to work with Russia and other like-minded people to develop a multipolar world. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said this on Tuesday at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during the G20 summit in Bali.

“China is ready to work with Russia and like-minded countries to resolutely promote the development of a multipolar world, firmly support the democratization of international relations, and defend the international system based on the United Nations,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry website quoted the minister as saying.

The head of the department noted that Beijing welcomes Russia’s return to the deal for the transportation of grain through the Black Sea.

“We are pleased that Russia has given a signal for dialogue and agreed to resume the implementation of the agreement on the transportation of grain through the Black Sea,” Wang Yi said.

Wang Yi also assured that Beijing will continue to adhere to an objective and fair position on the conflict in Ukraine. The report published by the Chinese Foreign Ministry says that the ministers exchanged views on the Ukrainian issue.

“China will continue to take an objective and fair stand and play a constructive role in facilitating peace talks,” the ministry’s website quoted the minister as saying.

The diplomat noted that China considers Russia’s position on the inadmissibility of nuclear war reasonable and responsible.

“China drew attention to the fact that Russia recently reaffirmed its approved position that nuclear war is impossible and unacceptable, this is Russia’s rational and responsible position,” Wang Yi said.
