Turkish Finance Minister Nebati reminded the EU about the winter and dependence on Russian gas

Turkish Finance and Treasury Minister Noureddin Nebati in an interview with Arab News reminded the EU about the winter and dependence on Russian gas. The statement was made in connection with the plans of creating a gas hub in Turkey.

“If we look at Europe, it is dependent on Russian gas and will spend the winter in great stress. New steps now need to be taken and new constructions need to go ahead. That is why President Erdogan has said that measures must be taken so that Turkey, which will become a hub, can distribute Iranian and Russian gas to Europe,” Nabati said.

In his view, this would contribute to peace in the region and create a safe environment for energy transportation.
