The conflict in Ukraine and the crisis caused by it will be aggravated, compromises and a truce are unlikely, since “everyone wants the defeat of the other side,” said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
The Serbian head of state is in Vlasotince, in the south of the country, on Tuesday to inspect the new open workshop of the German auto parts manufacturer Gruner Srbija. Journalists asked him if he believed in the possibility of reaching a truce in Ukraine.
“I hope, but I don’t see it. Nobody wants a compromise. Everyone wants the defeat of the other side. I am afraid that the situation will be even more difficult, that everything will be even worse. The situation will not become clearer,” the President of Serbia said. Vucic recalled that more than five months remained until the end of winter and the heating season, and therefore “every day is important.”
