Moldovan authorities introduced restrictions on electricity consumption due to the crisis


The Moldovan government has tightened measures to save electricity. Residents of the republic are advised not to use elevators from 7:00 to 11:00 and from 18:00 to 23:00, commercial real estate administrators are recommended to reduce lighting by 30%, turn off fountains, billboards and escalators. The indoor temperature should be no higher than 19 degrees, and during non-working hours no higher than 15 degrees.

Among other measures is to reduce electricity consumption, especially during peak hours from 07.00 to 11.00 and from 18.00 to 23.00, and the operation of escalators in the premises should also be suspended during the same period.

And in Chisinau itself, they decided to turn on street lighting an hour later and turn it off an hour earlier to save electricity.

“It is necessary to turn off any installations that are not vital and do not affect the safety and health of citizens,” said Mayor Ivan Cheban.
