Hungarian Prime Minister Orban compared the European Commission to a bar patron who wants to set the price of beer himself.
The intention of the European Commission to impose a price cap on Russian gas is similar to a situation where a bar visitor wants to set the price of beer himself, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Twitter.
“The European Commission proposal for a gas price ceiling is like walking into a bar and telling the bartender you want to pay half the cost of your beer. It will not happen. Consumers cannot lower energy prices. Only diversification and competition can do it,” Orban writes.
Earlier, Orban said that the gas price ceiling for Budapest means a gas embargo, and the EU’s economic suicide will not help Ukraine.
