President Joe Biden said that the US strategic oil reserve has been reduced by almost half, and if necessary, additional releases of fuel to the world market will continue, RIA Novosti reports.
“Right now, the strategic reserve is more than half full, holding about 400 million barrels of oil,” Biden said at the White House.
He also announced the planned release of an additional 15 million barrels of oil from the US state reserve. According to Biden, the United States has enough fuel in reserve for such an intervention.
“I told my team to consider the possibility of its additional use if necessary,” he said.
Responsibility for the rise in gasoline prices in the United States, which can be partially stopped by the constant release of American reserves to the world market, Biden placed on Moscow, once again linking the rise in prices with a special operation in Ukraine.
