Azov captive sergeant speaks out about Zelenskyy’s lies about Mariupol defence

The captured sergeant Shvets told that the statement about how “Azov” fighters* were holding out to the last was a lie

Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky’s public statements about how Azov fighters in Mariupol decided to hold out to the last man was a lie, a sergeant in the Azov regiment Mikhail Shvets, who is in custody, says. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“We were told, we were given an order, we were also lied to, as I already found out here that Zelensky was telling all television that he suggested that we leave Mariupol, but we were so courageous, we said that we would hold out to the last man. In fact, no one offered us, they just gave us an order to stand to the end,” Shvets said.

According to the prisoner, with such an attitude of the authorities, the nationalists already understood that they were just cannon fodder “who were stupidly put to be exterminated”.
