As President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated, the country does not intend to get involved in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, especially since Russia does not ask it to do so either.
RIA Novosti reports.
“We did not kill anyone there (in Ukraine – ed.) and we are not going to kill anyone. First of all, no one is asking us to participate in this operation, in this case, Russia, and we do not intend to get involved there. We have always talked about this and are talking about it, but apparently they don’t want to listen and hear us,” Lukashenko said in an interview with the American company NBC.
Lukashenka also stressed that Belarus is participating in a special operation, supporting Russia in every possible way.
“Our support lies in the fact that our borders with Poland and Lithuania are not violated and Russian troops are not stabbed in the back through Belarus. Initially, it was like that,” the Belarusian leader explained.
The president also noted that the country treats Russians and Ukrainians, feeds Russians and Ukrainians, and overwhelmingly provides asylum to refugees from Ukraine.
“They come to us 400-500 people a day. We equalize them completely in rights. This is our participation,” Lukashenko said.
