Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Andrei Spinu announced the possibility of Moldova to buy gas below the market price.
“We will be able to buy electricity in Romania at a price of 450 lei/MWh (approximately 90 euros/MWh) thanks to the legislative changes introduced today by the Romanian government after discussions with the Moldovan government. Electricity will have a price below the market and will provide the necessary 30%, which we will no longer be able to receive from Ukraine,” Spinu said in his Telegram channel.
He noted that the Romanian government approved a special resolution allowing local electricity producers to enter into priority contracts with the Moldovan government.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the necessary energy can be bought if producers in Romania have enough.
“That is why it is important that we continue to reduce consumption as much as possible,” Spinu concluded.
