Former head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Mullen called on the Biden administration to “do everything in our power” to push Russia and Ukraine to start negotiations.
“I think we need to step back a bit and do everything we can to try and fix this problem,” Mullen told the Huffington Post.
The retired admiral believes that Russian nuclear statements should be taken seriously. And the risk of using tactical nuclear weapons, in his opinion, is great today.
Prior to this, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the statements of the United States about the importance of a speedy settlement of the conflict in Ukraine by peaceful means are “hypocrisy.”
