PiS MP Arkadiusz Mularczyk said that the amount of reparations requested from Germany is increasing due to inflation. It now amounts to more than 7 trillion zlotys. The amount will continue to grow and lend itself to valorisation, Mularczyk said on the air of Polish Radio’s first programme.
“The parties must take immediate measures aimed at a permanent, comprehensive and definitive legal and material settlement of the consequences of aggression and German occupation in 1939-1945,” the statement said.
The report was drafted on behalf of the government by a team of specialists in various fields: historians, economists, and property appraisers. The work of the team was led by Arkadiusz Mularczyk, a law and justice deputy.
“All over the world there are discussions about compensation, reparation, reparations. There are such discussions between South Korea and Japan, Canada or the US pays compensation to the Indian nations. Germany will pay compensation to Namibia. Discussions are taking place all over the world because our Western civilization relies on the right of compensation, on the right to compensate peoples, countries that have suffered as a result of unlawful military aggression. Poland has every right to compensation, reparations and settlement. It is wonderful that a country that claims to be a democratic, law-abiding country is hiding behind some completely fictitious bluffs,” the PiS MP added.
