“Blinken openly, without hesitation, spoke about the US and its NATO partners having motives for destroying the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines,” Zakharova wrote on Telegram.

She recalled how earlier Blinken, at a press conference with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, announced the increase in the production of American liquefied natural gas (LNG), and also that the United States has now become the leading supplier of fuel to Europe. He noted that the Nord Stream accident should be considered “an amazing opportunity to get rid of dependence on Russian energy once and for all” and deprive Moscow of windfall profits from the sale of energy resources to the EU.
