American General Wesley Clark, former commander of NATO forces in Europe, believes that Vladimir Putin did not use all his forces during the special operation in Ukraine.
The general said that the idea of the alleged incompetence of the Russian armed forces is dangerous because of the large number of Russian military resources that have not yet been used.
“This perception of Russian forces as incompetent is the worst misconception for you. They have very good artillery and there is a lot of it, more than in all NATO countries combined. They are trained, they have high-tech weapons like Iskander and Caliber missiles, so their potential cannot be underestimated. They have huge reserves of soldiers. Putin is now nowhere close to using the full potential of his army,” he said.
Klar added that the Russian leader probably wanted to drain Kyiv, “taste the water before going all the way in, so it was possible to contain his strength.”
