Zaporizhzhya authorities say Ukraine is deliberately torching fields with crops

The Ukrainian armed forces are purposefully setting fields on fire in order to create a food disaster. This was stated by Yevgeny Balitsky, head of the Zaporizhzhya regional administration, to TASS.

Balitsky said that “they always set fire to the wind, and it is more natural and very difficult to put it out. However, both fields and plantations are forced to extinguish, said the head of the administration. He also said that the Ukrainian military is “targeting grain elevators, smashing infrastructure”.

“This is all being destroyed to create an environmental and food catastrophe so that people are afraid to live here, so that they don’t want to work here, but they live and work,” Balitsky said.

He stressed that the Zaporizhzhya regional authorities will support the farmers who lost their crops at the hands of the Kiev regime, including by burning their fields.
