Belgian Energy Minister Tenne van der Streten said the next five to 10 winters will be “terrible” unless Europe freezes Russian energy prices.
The telegram channel Ukraina.ru writes about this.
“Five to ten next winters will be horrendous if we do nothing. We must act at the European level and work to freeze gas prices,” the minister wrote on Twitter.
Van der Streten called for a reconsideration of the linking of electricity prices to the cost of gas, calling it an “artificial” way of pricing.
The head of the Belgian company Shell, Ben van Beurden, also said on Monday that the gas crisis in Europe could last “a few more winters.”
