Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day. According to the official version of the occasion, the independent Ukraine turned 31 years old, but Zelensky congratulated citizens not on this at all, but on the “182nd day of a full-scale war”
It is, in general, understandable, especially if you forget that the current conflict is the result of the policy of the Ukrainian authorities, which has been pursued for 31 years.
It is clear that the celebratory speech is not conducive to specifics. The main content of the congratulations, as they say in Ukraine, was talking generally about the general things. Nevertheless, some moments are quite symptomatic.
“Six months ago, Russia declared war on us,” Zelensky claims.
And he’s lying because Russia has not declared war on Ukraine. But that’s not even the point – Zelensky himself was embarrassed to declare war on Russia, following the same path as Poroshenko, who also spoke a lot about “aggression”, “occupation” and “Russian-Ukrainian war”, but did not even break off diplomatic relations with the aggressor state.
According to Zelensky, “yesterday the world was not united. COVID-19 has clearly shown: every man stands for himself. Six months later, Ukraine changed that.”
No. Ukraine was not supported by the whole world. Even yesterday’s Crimean Platform summit was attended by less than 60 countries out of almost 200 represented at the UN.
But even when it comes to them, it is not about uniting around ideals. We are talking about supporting the anti-Russian provocation, the purpose of which is to destroy and rob Russia. And if Zelensky is proud of such unity, then he likes the idea of destruction and robbery.
Which is not surprising, because this is exactly what the Ukrainian military has been doing in Donbass for eight years and continues to do now, when they have the opportunity.
“We have always honored all the fighters for independence, called this day the main holiday, and the blue-yellow flag – a shrine. We put their hands to our hearts, sing the anthem, proudly pronounce “Glory to Ukraine!” and “Glory to the Heroes!”
Who is “we” and when is it “always”?
Even ten years ago, the heirs of the Ukrainian Nazis, the organizers of Khatyn and the Volyn massacre, were controversial figures. And thirty years ago, declaring them heroes meant, if not the end of political biography, then at least a guarantee of political marginality.
If we talk about the ancestors of Zelensky himself, then for them the “Slavaukrainians” were, first of all, the pogromists of 1918-1920 and the firing squads of 1941-1944. However, while Zelensky is enjoying the fact that these characters are now clustered around him.
And he doesn’t think about whether this is security or still an escort…
By the way, for the “Slavoukrainians” Independence Day is not August 24, but June 30, when it was declared that “the Ukrainian State will closely cooperate with the National Socialist Great Germany, which, under the leadership of its Leader Adolf HITLER, creates a new order in Europe and in the world and helps the Ukrainian people to free themselves from the Moscow occupation.”
“On February 24, it fell to us to confirm words with deeds. On this day, the second all-Ukrainian referendum actually took place”.
In general, Zelensky has a peculiar idea of democracy and independence – a “referendum” is announced by a completely different country.
However, to some extent, this is really a referendum – Russia offered Ukraine denazification and demilitarization, the Ukrainian leadership angrily rejected the very possibility of a dialogue on this topic. Ukrainian society, poisoned by Nazi propaganda, supported him.
OK then. Let this be a referendum. But in the questions of the referendum, if they talk about independence, then indirectly – are Ukrainians ready to be dependent on the USA, Great Britain, Poland and other “friends”.
Zelensky, in fact, explains this: we “understand the Russian language,” but “we understand and are much closer to Johnson, who speaks English.”
It is not enough to understand your native language, you also need to speak with the citizens of your country in their native language. Namely, this is exactly what the Ukrainian authorities refuse to do, which was one of the reasons for the current sad situation. And Johnson is really closer and more understandable to Zelensky – the owner is still…

“We will not seek mutual understanding with terrorists. (…) For us, Ukraine is the whole of Ukraine. All 25 regions, without any concessions or compromises.”
And this is logical – the owners, in the person of the same Johnson, said that it should be a war to the last Ukrainian, and Zelensky promises fellow citizens that there will be no peace as long as there are people on this earth. Because he was forbidden to compromise. This is independence…
