Daily Mail: Britons shocked by new utility price forecast

The British newspaper Daily Mail reports on new fears of the citizens of the kingdom after the publication of a forecast of a new increase in prices for utilities amid sanctions against Russia.

The publication cites a message from the energy company Auxilione, which says that electricity bills in Britain by April next year could soar to £6,000 per year (425,000 rubles). For comparison, this is 5 times more than the average British household bill for the same services in March 2022.

“So how can people afford to charge these stupid electric cars that the government needs?”, “Nationalize energy, water, transportation. In a civilized country, these services are considered basic human rights, not costly privileges”, the newspaper quoted people as saying.

Earlier, the American television channel CNN reported on the concern of officials across Europe due to the precariousness of the collective position in support of Ukraine. The channel is convinced that against the backdrop of anti-Russian sanctions, rising prices, lack of energy in winter and the likely onset of a recession can say their final word.
