Bloomberg sources report that the authorities of the kingdom are working hard on the winter scenario, which includes an “organized shutdown” of electricity not only at enterprises, but also in private households.

British government analysts have concluded that a “worst case scenario” is likely with a combination of cold weather and gas shortages. Under such circumstances, Britain, even having launched emergency coal-fired thermal power plants, will inevitably face a shortage of electricity generation capacity. The electricity deficit will be about a sixth of the peak demand for the period.

The government believes that the most likely period of time when the country will be forced to resort to emergency measures to save gas and electricity will be the four days of January, Bloomberg sources say.
